What is the General Practice Extraction Service (GPES)
The GPES is a data extraction service that is operated by NHS England. It enables NHS Digital to query GP practice systems for data, with consent from GP systems, and provide the information to approved organisations such as NHS England, Public Health England and Department of Health and Social Care.
The GPES is a mechanism for controlling and scheduling extractions. Data is only taken from the GP practice by agreement and only specific coded and structured content is extracted.

CQRS and GPES
The Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) is an approval, reporting and payments system for GP practices and PCNs. It helps practices to track, monitor and declare achievement for the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), DES, and Vaccination and Immunisation (V&I) programmes. [source NHS England]. Since 1 November 2020, CQRS has been managed by the NHS Commissioning Support Units.
GPES works in conjunction with CQRS to support data collections such as:
