Bolton CCG is one of several commissioning organisations to start using Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) Local as part of an end user working group and have been essential to the development of the new system, designed for commissioners and primary care providers.

“We were contacted directly by the CSU collaborative and at that time, we were looking for a more efficient system which would help us to administer GP claims. CQRS Local is very good. It has met with our expectations and the claims process is much quicker.”

CQRS Local is a web-based system to manage payments for Local Incentive Schemes – very much like the national version but with commissioners having more control.

As a collaborative, the CSUs have further enhanced the current system, making it more flexible to meet the needs of commissioners from across the UK.

Shaping the system

“We started to use the system for claims approvals in November 2021 and provided valuable input into the functionality of the new system, which includes ability to sort claims/practices by practice code.”

“Some of the obstacles we encountered prior to using CQRS Local were having time to process claims and to run manual reports.”

Bolton CCG has helped to shape the system so that it adds value for commissioners and practices whilst removing some of the pain points associated with claims processing.

Instant benefits of CQRS

“After attending one of the webinar events, we found it useful, and it helped us to understand the main benefits of using the CQRS Local system. It was clearly explained to us, how CQRS Local can help alleviate some of the pain points associated with the admin and processing of payments and how this new system would drive efficiencies.”

“The onboarding process was straightforward, and it helped being linked into the developers to assist with any working queries.”

“The CSU collaborative were very helpful and the training team, in particular, provided training support to our practices as part of the onboarding process.”

CQRS Local is a secure site and can be accessed from any web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, or Firefox and does not need a VPN connection.

Formally called N3, it will not require The Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) for a connection either, just log into the CQRS payment area using your NHS mail log in details.

“For us, the use of CQRS Local has led to an increase in claims payments being processed because of the faster processes involved.”
