Purpose and outline

Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is a general term for conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels. CVD can often largely be preventted by leading a healthy lifestyle to reduce health factors. If patients are over 40 they will be invited to see their GP for an NHS Health Check every 5 years. Read more on the NHS website.
