GPES Data for Pandemic Planning and Research

Background

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to intense demand on general practices for planning, research and audit data, and data requests are coming in from multiple organisations.

NHS Digital aims to reduce burden on general practices by running a weekly GPES extract under the emergency COVID-19 direction.  The extract will be known as GPES Data for Planning and Research.

The extract has the support of BMA’s Joint GP IT Committee (JGPITC) and RCGP.
