Payments for the MMRV catch-up programme
From NHS England’s Primary Care Bulletin, dated 8 October 2026 (issue 409)
An amendment to the GMS Statement of Financial Entitlements has been published which introduces a selective MMRV catch up programme running from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2028.
Under the programme, GPs will offer a MMRV dose to children who were born 1 January 2020 to 31 August 2022, with no history of chickenpox, who have not had two doses of varicella-containing vaccine.
During November 2026 and December 2026, fully automated payments for administering this dose are only available for children aged 5 years and under at vaccination.
If GP practices vaccinate children aged 6, they should make a manual adjustment in CQRS to their total. Commissioners will communicate if any additional evidence of vaccination is required and then agree the adjusted total.
No other MMRV payments are affected.
