All ICBs in England are now using CQRS Local
All Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in England are now using the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) Local system to manage GP practice claims for local commissioned healthcare services and support the increase in GP capacity.
Several ICBs who had previously adopted CQRS Local have now fully onboarded all localities, including:
- North East and North Cumbria ICB
- Cheshire and Merseyside ICB
- Greater Manchester ICB
Following restructuring changes to ICBs in April 2026, three newly formed ICBs have also implemented CQRS Local:
- Thames Valley ICB
- Surrey and Sussex ICB
- Central East ICB
CQRS Local is an NHS England funded, web-based claims management system designed for locally enhanced schemes (LES). It streamlines the management of provider claims, reduces administrative burden, and enhances reporting. This results in a more efficient, transparent and auditable claims management process.
With no limit to the number of NHS services that can be commissioned, ICBs can configure CQRS Local to reflect local population health priorities.
Since its introduction in 2020, adoption by ICBs and GP Practices has steadily increased. However, the introduction of the practice-level GP Reimbursement Scheme service in 2026 accelerated uptake of CQRS Local by ICBs and primary care organisations.
