Black Country ICB Embraces Innovation by Signing Up to CQRS Local
Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB) has taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare efficiency, by signing up to use Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) Local. The cutting-edge system is designed to streamline claims from primary care providers for the delivery of Local Enhanced Services.
CQRS Local is an NHS England funded system that enables primary care providers, such as GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs), to better manage their claims for the delivery of locally commissioned enhanced services. It is funded by NHS England and managed by the NHS CSU Collaborative, a partnership of commissioning support units (CSUs), and is free for commissioners and primary care providers to use.
The web-based system offers commissioners and primary care providers a platform to manage claims for locally driven healthcare schemes which reflect local priorities. The system reduces the risk of inaccurate claims, makes it easier for providers to understand payments made against activities claimed. It includes built-in tools for commissioners to support reporting and monitoring of activity.
Adopting CQRS Local underscores Black Country ICB’s ongoing commitment to improving efficiency through digital solutions.
Sarb Basi, Director of Primary Care at Black Country ICB said: “By using CQRS Local we are ensuring our primary care providers and commissioners have the tools they need to focus on delivering high quality care across the region.”
Deborah Matson-Beale, Head of GP Payments for CQRS Local, on behalf of the CSU Collaborative, said: “We’re delighted to onboard another ICB to CQRS Local. Black Country ICB is the 25th ICB to sign up, with many ICBs showing interest in the system. For those who are cautious about introducing a new way of working, running a local pilot with a group of GPs is a great way to demonstrate the benefits of CQRS Local.”
